PINKUUNIUNI SET
ARTIST • Bunpo KAWAMURA
SET CONSISTS OF TWO INDIVIDUAL PRINTS
AVAILABLE IN A4, A3 AND A2 SETS
These Japanese woodblock prints of flowers from the 18th century have a delicate beauty and translucency. Japanese artists printed onto thin, hand-made paper (washi) that here allow underlying designs to show through in relief. The effect is multi-layered and serene, allowing the designs to almost float across the page.

These images are colour illustration woodcuts from a book of drawings by Bunpo Kawamura (1779-1821). Polychrome printing with multiple colours only became possible shortly before these woodblocks were printed.
